3 Fold was an important show for everyone concerned, and I believe it really showed when we came to perform it. I am so proud of everyone involved, and very happy that so many people came to Bakewell to see us. Thank you!
I wasn’t sure I was going to make it to the end of the final piece, using a combination of brute force, adrenaline and desperation before collapsing at the end of the show only to have to climb back up to my feet for the curtain call. It was worth every drop of blood, sweat & tears (and all 3 were present) and I wholeheartedly look forward to doing it all again as soon as possible! Ah, such is the crazy mind of a dancer.
Deuce (aka The Tennis piece) is by comparison a walk in the park (though you wouldn’t know it at the time), a little light-hearted relief to ease you into the show and whether it’s due to our hammy acting or Alice’s skilled choreography the audience relaxed enough to have a laugh with us as we showed a snippet in the lives of Dudley, Jemima, Fiona & Adam (yes, we named our characters – I just wish we’d recorded the stuff we came up with when fleshing them out, pure comedy gold!)
Alice & Gemma are on a mission to bring professional contemporary dance to Derbyshire, and they’re doing a mighty fine job of it – I’m proud to have played my little part in Adaire to Dance’s inauguration and look forward to the laughs, bruises & gruelling choreography yet to come.
